National Piña Colada Day

Old Tennessee Distilling Company / Recipes  / National Piña Colada Day

National Piña Colada Day

It only makes sense that National Piña Colada Day is set in the middle of summer. On July 10th, you have all been waiting for in these quarantine times, an excuse to sip on the signature island cocktail. Tragically, we can’t travel to the Caribbean and try the drink in its full authenticity, but at Old Tennessee, we have some great rum that will make you feel like you’re on island time. Here are a few different piña coladas you can try to celebrate the holiday!

Classic Piña Colada

4 oz. Cal E. Johnson Black Mountain Spiced Rum

4 oz. Coconut milk

⅓ c. fresh pineapple chunks

Splash pineapple juice

1 c. ice

2 Dumplin Creek Tennessee Frost Moonshine Cherries

Blend until smooth. Top with cherries and a pineapple chunk.

Piña Colada Sangría

½ c. Thunder Road Renegade Rum

1 750-ml bottle Sauvignon Blanc

2 c. pineapple juice

1 c. Seltzer

1 c. chopped pineapple

¼ c. maraschino cherries

Combine in a pitcher. Garnish with pineapple.

Piña Colada Mimosas

½ c. Thunder Road Coconut Flavored Rum

1 c. sugar

Pineapple wedge, for rimming glasses

1 c. pineapple juice

1 bottle prosecco

Pineapple slices, for garnish

Maraschino cherries, for garnish

Rim glasses with sugar and pineapple wedges. Pour pineapple juice and rum, then top with prosecco. Garnish with pineapple slices and a maraschino cherry.

Make sure to celebrate National Piña Colada Day by coming into Old Tennessee Distilling Company and tasting our rums! We can give you all the knowledge on the island spirit, and we would love to help you out. Post your National Piña Colada Day celebrations and tag us on your social media accounts!
